A Night In with the Whitters Sisters

Laiken, Hailey, and Heavenlei Whitters are talented sisters from Iowa and collaborated with us on our State Fair Box! Hailey is an award-winning country music singer, Laiken is a marketing guru and Heavenlei has the cutest vintage clothing shop. We asked them everything that makes up their perfect night in.

What are you Drinking?

Red wine, Olipops, Espresso Martinisssss, tequila. <3

Big Poppi or Olipop fam over here… but also we all crash at Laikens and her fiance is quite the mixologist so he’s always cookin’ up something fun. We love a Negroni, Espresso Martini, or a Sonoma/PNW bottle of wine. The beer selection is always great too, lots of local brews and as always, Busch Latte.

Depends on the season, but most often a red wine or dirty martini! Love a Negroni in the winter or a Cherry Cola Olipop (mmmm so good with popcorn).

What are you Doing?

Chatting it up or watching the show “GIRLS” but tonight it was Faye Dunaway’s life documentary. She is iconic.

Our whole family is obsessed with Ticket to Ride so we play that a lot. We love to make a fresh home cooked meal when we can all be together and sit around the dining table. Netflix and chill is also a regular occurrence.

Shinzai or Euchre (cards) or watching Botched, Love is Blind or any other trash reality TV.

We do pass around books a lot! Laiken and I are part of a book train with friends from all over the country. Currently reading: The Story of Edgar Sawtelle.

What are you eating?

Popcorn thats popped hot & fresh with heaps of butter and chunky pink Himalayan salt. Tajin on watermelon for the summer.

Laiken has had I don’t even know how many years old jolly ranchers in her candy basket FOREVERRRR… snackin' on those. POPCORN! Pickles, cheese, accoutrements, all the fix-ins.

How do you set the vibe?

I love funky rugs. Sunset lamps or any alternative dim lighting. Mega candles lit. The sunset into the evening is my favorite time of day. Burning sage while listening to tunes and pulling tarot cards.

We love a candelabra with tall colorful candlesticks from hobby lobby. An assortment of thrift store goods - bowls and plates. Always settin’ good vibes with a good table. Kruangbin or Grateful Dead on the playlist. 🌈

Candles for suuuuuure, and often fun cocktail napkins/thrifted goodwill glassware, matching sweat sets, and of course you can count on dogs being nearby (Hailey has two, I have one, Heavenlei has one).
