Part-time Fulfillment Contractor
Job Description:
We are seeking a part-time Fulfillment Contractor to join our team through the end of the year, with the option to extend or convert to full-time. This role is crucial in ensuring all of our orders are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner during this holiday season. The Fulfillment Contractor will be responsible for preparing, packing, and shipping orders, and helping manage inventory. The ideal candidate will have experience in ecommerce fulfillment and inventory management, and be very detail oriented.
$25/hour with a minimum commitment of one shift per week (5-8 hours). Must come in-person to Berkeley office.
Responsibilities:- Accurately pick and pack orders following company procedures
- Ensure products are carefully packaged to prevent damage during transit
- Label and prepare boxes for shipment via our shipping carriers
- Drop off orders at local USPS and UPS locations
- Report on inventory levels and fulfillment at the end of each shift
- Organize fulfillment office as needed
- Support team members with other tasks as required, ensuring a smooth holiday fulfillment process
- Ability to commit to 1-2 shifts per week (5-8 hour shift)
- Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English
- Ability to be on one’s feet and physically pack orders (nothing over 40 pounds) for extended periods of time
- Local to the Berkeley area (or have reliable transportation)
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Previous ecommerce fulfillment experience preferred
- Tech literacy preferred, to get up to speed with our inventory management and shipping systems
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating volume demands
- Flexibility to adjust hours as needed, especially during peak holiday periods

About Cheerie Lane:
Cheerie Lane created the first ever all-in-one popcorn pods, made with heirloom kernels and premium ingredients, that melts and transforms into a warm bowl of popcorn over the stove or in the microwave. We were born on our co-founder’s fifth-generation daily farm in Iowa, where our non-GMO kernels are farmed. Our office and production facility is located in Berkeley, where this role will be based out of.

Marketing & Content Intern
Job Description:
You will play a crucial role in supporting Cheerie Lane’s marketing initiatives (across our social media accounts, email marketing, and website) and growing Cheerie Lane’s social media presence. On the creative side, you’ll help with brainstorming ideas and strategy, content creation, building out our TikTok account, and designing marketing assets. On the operational side, you’ll help with metrics reporting, data input, and community management.
This is a unique opportunity to learn the ins and outs of building and growing a new consumer brand, and to have an impact on our marketing strategy.
Your Responsibilities:
- Assist with organic social media strategy (TikTok & Instagram): propose new ideas, shoot/edit engaging content, assist with copywriting and scheduling, brainstorm talent for social campaigns and UGC, and build an audience
- Metrics reporting: track performance and effectiveness of marketing campaigns, pull insights, put together recaps, and make recommendations
- Assist with content creation for our website and brand/marketing assets: brainstorm ideas, shoot, edit
- Community management: gather data, pull insights, and report on trends from customer polling; manage customer service inquiries and requests
- Assist with other tasks as necessary: designing assets, data input, gifting sends, etc.
- Stay up to date with industry social media best practices, emerging trends, and competitor social media activities
Requirements:
- Strong awareness of social media trends
- Passion for creating content. Ideally, comfortable both behind and in front of the camera
- Excellent communicator (written, oral, interpersonal)
- Analytical thinker that can report on and pull insights from data
- Design experience with Adobe Creative Suite, video apps, Canva, website, and email platforms preferred
- Commitment: 10-15 hours per week, with ~2 hours per week spent on strategy and team meetings

Backup Lead Production/Kitchen Manager
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Production/Kitchen Manager to join our team in an as-needed capacity. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by providing leadership and support to our small team. Be part of a company that values teamwork and care. The Backup Lead Production/Kitchen Manager will assist in overseeing the operations of our kitchen, ensuring that production schedules are met and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. This role requires a combination of culinary expertise and leadership skills to manage kitchen staff and operations effectively when the Lead Manager is absent.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Production/Kitchen Manager in managing operations in the kitchen
- Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen staff to ensure timely food production and adherence to quality standards.
- Record inventory levels at the end of each shift
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Step in as the acting Lead Manager during their absence, managing all aspects of kitchen operations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Chef, or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Servsafe Certified
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of best practices for food safety and sanitation.
- Experience working with chocolate preferred.
- Local to the Berkeley area (or have reliable transportation)
- Available during the full 7:00am-4:00pm production shift on Tuesdays as needed (will give at least one week notice)
- Can lift 50lbs
