Backup Lead Production/Kitchen Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Production/Kitchen Manager to join our team in an as-needed capacity. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by providing leadership and support to our small team. Be part of a company that values teamwork and care. The Backup Lead Production/Kitchen Manager will assist in overseeing the operations of our kitchen, ensuring that production schedules are met and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. This role requires a combination of culinary expertise and leadership skills to manage kitchen staff and operations effectively when the Lead Manager is absent. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Lead Production/Kitchen Manager in managing operations in the kitchen 
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen staff to ensure timely food production and adherence to quality standards.
  • Record inventory levels at the end of each shift 
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Step in as the acting Lead Manager during their absence, managing all aspects of kitchen operations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Chef, or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment. 
  • Servsafe Certified 
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of best practices for food safety and sanitation.
  • Experience working with chocolate preferred.
  • Local to the Berkeley area (or have reliable transportation) 
  • Available during the full 7:00am-4:00pm production shift on Tuesdays as needed (will give at least one week notice) 
  • Can lift 50lbs

Marketing and Content Intern

Job Description:

You will play a crucial role in supporting Cheerie Lane’s social storytelling strategy and providing marketing support over a wide variety of marketing initiatives. From brainstorming ideas, shooting, editing and creating content, you’ll be our resident TikToker, support our social content strategy and see your ideas come to life as a member of our start up marketing team.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Shoot, edit and schedule engaging organic content for TikTok, Instagram and our website.
  • Understand the TikTok landscape to propose new ideas, pull insights, track performance, and build an audience.
  • Be comfortable with finding talent for social and creating videos.
  • Assist in reporting recaps to inform campaign effectiveness.
  • Assist with design related tasks.
  • Assist with social copywriting and scheduling. 
  • Stay up to date with industry social media best practices and competitor activities.
  • Play vital role in growing Cheerie Lane’s social media presence.

    Requirements

    • Student with anticipated graduation in 2024 or 2025 with a major in a design or communications related field.
    • Good awareness of social media trends and ability to engage with them.
    • Illustrative story teller with a sense of humor and an abundance of wit.
    • Excited to take creative risks and comfortable both behind and in front of the camera.
    • Excellent communicator (written, oral, interpersonal) and grammar skills.
    • Team player and possesses a positive can-do attitude.
    • Show a high level of initiative and strong ability to manage your own schedule, meet multiple deadlines and move quickly.
    • You’re resourceful and have a strong ability to discover, learn and use new tools and technologies.
    • Design experience with Adobe Creative Suite, video apps, Canva, website and email platforms preferred. 
    • Commitment: 10-15 hours per week with ~2 hours/week for strategy and team meetings
